Star Guardians Version 1.8: Developer Team Addresses Multiple Known Issues in Latest Update

The development team behind the popular action RPG Star Guardians has released a comprehensive notice detailing several known issues affecting gameplay in the current Version 1.8 build. In a communication addressed to players on August 5, 2026, the team acknowledged multiple bugs spanning combat mechanics, user interface elements, navigation errors, and platform-specific problems. The developers have emphasized their commitment to investigating these issues and implementing fixes as quickly as possible, while also providing temporary workarounds for some of the more disruptive problems.

This type of transparent communication has become increasingly common in the live-service gaming industry, where developers maintain ongoing relationships with their player communities. As games continue to evolve through regular content updates, the complexity of potential bugs and conflicts naturally increases. Star Guardians, which has built a dedicated following since its launch, appears to be taking a proactive approach by documenting known issues and keeping players informed about the progress of fixes.

Combat and Character-Specific Bugs Identified

Among the most notable issues affecting gameplay is a combat-related bug involving the character Derieri. Players have reported that under certain conditions, the cooldown indicator fails to display properly when canceling a combo attack during her Gauntlets Special Attack known as ‘Wild Rush.’ This type of bug can significantly impact competitive play and strategic decision-making, as players rely on cooldown information to time their abilities effectively. The development team has acknowledged this issue and is currently investigating the root cause.

Another concerning problem involves characters occasionally falling endlessly beneath the game world’s terrain. This game-breaking bug, while described as occurring only occasionally, can completely disrupt a player’s session and potentially result in lost progress. The developers have noted that this particular issue will be addressed in a future update, suggesting it may require more substantial code changes to resolve properly. Such terrain collision bugs are common challenges in 3D game development, often stemming from complex physics interactions or edge cases in map geometry.

User Interface and Navigation Problems

Several user interface issues have also been documented in the Version 1.8 build. One bug affects the display of reward item quantities, where checking the details of items that don’t display a quantity incorrectly shows the value as ‘1.’ While this may seem minor, accurate information display is crucial for players making decisions about resource management and progression. Additionally, the Leaderboard feature is experiencing a display error where the ‘Top %’ text for player records fails to appear in the Previous Season Ranking Info section, potentially affecting competitive players who track their performance over time.

Navigation errors within the game’s menu system have also been identified. Players attempting to access the Missions Menu from the ‘Trail of Progress – Two Paths’ event screen are being incorrectly redirected to the Quest list instead. Furthermore, controller users have reported that viewing a material’s Set Effect on the Engraved Equipment crafting screen and then selecting Back causes the in-game cursor to disappear entirely. This controller-specific bug highlights the additional complexity developers face when supporting multiple input methods across different gaming platforms.

Platform-Specific Issues and Temporary Solutions

Steam platform users have encountered a particularly frustrating issue where error code ‘30021225-0’ prevents game access entirely. Fortunately, the development team has identified a straightforward solution: updating the Steam build to the latest version resolves this problem. This type of version mismatch issue commonly occurs when game updates are deployed across multiple distribution platforms, and the quick identification of a fix demonstrates the team’s responsiveness to platform-specific concerns.

The raid system has also been affected by a bug where the Retry feature fails to activate after clearing a raid entered in solo play with insufficient ‘Mystic Keys.’ This issue particularly impacts players who may have accidentally entered content without proper resources. Additionally, a location-specific bug causes characters to be moved to unexpected areas when leaving a party at certain points in the game world. The developers have noted that this latter issue can be temporarily resolved by reconnecting to the game, providing players with an immediate workaround while a permanent fix is developed.

The Star Guardians team concluded their notice with an apology for any inconvenience caused and reaffirmed their commitment to providing a stable gameplay experience. As live-service games continue to dominate the industry landscape, this level of ongoing communication and support has become essential for maintaining player trust and engagement over the long term.

Expert Opinion: The transparency demonstrated by the Star Guardians development team reflects industry best practices for live-service game management. By publicly acknowledging issues and providing temporary workarounds, developers can maintain player goodwill even during technically challenging periods. The variety of bugs reported—spanning combat mechanics, UI elements, and platform compatibility—suggests Version 1.8 may have introduced significant backend changes, and players should expect additional hotfixes in the coming weeks as the team works through their investigation queue.
